Swoon Rugs' Top 10 Spaces 2018 (so far)

It's time to highlight the top 10 spaces featuring a Swoon rug from 2018 (so far)! See our favorite spaces featuring one of our rugs. You'll see how some design savvy folks incorporate vintage rugs, jute rugs, flat weaves, pastel styles and runners. Get ready to swoon!

10. LAYER ALL THE THINGS

Vintage Runner Layered Over GEO Rug

Layering in details is a great way to build up a look. We love how Erin Conway flawlessly layered in details throughout her space. We've seen layered rugs before, but this look is something new. She took a light + bright runner with faded details and used it to anchor her chairs within the larger seating arrangement. It works perfectly! The soft color and large scale pattern of the vintage runner don't compete with the tone on tone medium scale of the large area rug. Amazing!

9. BUFFALO CHECK JUTE

Buffalo Check Jute - Kid's Room Design

Kids rooms should never be boring but they aren't often this cool. Tanya Meda used one of our most popular jute rugs to add a graphic edge to her daughter's scandi goes bohemian bedroom. We love the simple lines of bed, the pops of pink and the way our buffalo check jute rug works to anchor the details. Love it!

8. BEST NURSERY

Best Vintage Rug In A Nursery

Designer, DIY guru, and blogger Bre Bertolini has an eye for detail. This is her son's nursery. She DIYed the white wood detail and ledge shelf to give the room some visual weight. Her use of color and knack for mixing patterns makes for drool worthy results.

7. BOLD + GRAPHIC DETAILS

Bold + Graphic Dhurrie

Our Desert Star Dhurrie, in black, is our most popular rug. When you see how Kate Keesee styles it, it's no wonder people love this look. Kate is a master of using texture and pattern, rhythmically throughout a room to create her signature style.

6. NEUTRALS DONE RIGHT

Vintage Rug with Credenza

Sometimes neutral spaces can be a bit boring-but not this one. Alivia Latimer keeps this neutral space interesting by picking pieces with major presence: a mid century credenza, graphic artwork, nicely scaled greenery and a vintage rug faded to perfection.

5. HALLWAY BOHO DETAILS

Vintage Rug in Hall

It's easy to neglect the spaces in between our rooms, but when you see how creative busy bee Christina Shirley pulls together her small hall it might make you question the logic of leaving the spaces in-between bare. This tiny space is packed full of beautiful details: whitewashed wood accent wall, the dreamiest walnut credenza, matching walnut finish round mirror, loads of plants all on white containers and a pastel vintage rug

4. BEST LIBRARY

Alternating Stripes Dhurrie

Who says libraries should be boring? This space designed by Jen Streeter is proof that spaces that spark the mind should also spark the senses. That velvet fuschia sofa looks like the perfect spot to sink into a good book. We love that she color coordinated her book collection. The linear blocks of color are a great compliment to the alternating lines in the Offset Stripes Dhurrie, shown in black but also available in blue.

3. THE HARD TO FILL SPACE

Vintage Rug Open Concept Layout

Large open spaces are great, but they can be harder to design fully. But Jordan Farmer didn't skip a beat when it came to fully articulating her open space. A large console works great behind the sofa along with two dreamy lamps in exactly the right scale. The vintage rug on the floor provides just the right amount of color and pattern for the space.

2. THE BEST KITCHEN

Pastel Vintage Rug in Kitchen

Here's the thing: every space Anissa Zajac designs is perfection. This kitchen is no exception. She has an amazing sensitivity for designing spaces with an understated, clean graphic edge. She skillfully balances farmhouse details with Scandinavian sensibilities in a way that feels fresh, sophisticated and low key cool. We love how our pastel vintage runner looks in her kitchen.

1. ALSO, THE BEST KITCHEN

Vintage Rug in Kitchen

Cristina Stauber had the right idea when she was designing her new house: putting a vintage runner in your kitchen is pretty much always a great idea. Beautiful kitchens result from a balance of great finish selections. A beautiful runner can enhance this. The right runner can add warmth, color, pattern and bring together all of the hard surface details. The scale and pattern of this rug works great with the geo details in the backsplash. The black in this runner ties into the cabinets and the pop of red adds the perfect finishing touch to the space.
