If you are anything like me, staying busy at home + focusing on small projects is a great way to deal with the unknowns of tomorrow. We are just 4 days away from spring which means it is time to start refreshing our homes! Since many of us are stuck indoors, it is the perfect time to get a head start on some spring cleaning.
Here are 4 ways to give your home a refresh and prepare for spring:
1. Clean out your closets
If you’re like me, you have tons of clothes in your closet you haven’t worn in years. This is a great opportunity for you to get rid of junk that is taking space in your closets.
- Start by creating a “keep” pile and a “donate/trash” pile. This will make it easier for you to quickly clear everything out and see what is worth keeping.
- To get really organized, start putting away all of your winter clothes. This will make it easier for you to pick out your outfit in the morning before work or school.
2. Reorganize your pantry
Before you go to the grocery store and buy in bulk (if you haven't already!), take a moment to see what you already have in your pantry at home. You should consider putting items with an upcoming expiration date in the front of the pantry so they’re easier to see and use.

3. Freshen up your rugs
Our rugs suffered a long winter so now it’s time to give them some sunlight! Take your rugs outside and shake them out really well. If you have a carpet beater, use that to knock out any excess dirt and dust. You should also vacuum both sides of your rug (avoid the fringe!) and give the space your rug sits a good cleaning as well.

Anyone else guilty of starting a project and just...not finishing it? You’re not alone! So many of us do this because on a normal day, we have so much going on and not enough time to dedicate to these projects. This is a great opportunity to finish (or start) that home project you once dreamed of. You could even get the kids involved to make it a fun family project.
4. Finish (or start) your DIY project
